Thinking about signing a petition<\/p>\n

calling for a desperate rendition,<\/div>\n
overcoming our present condition,<\/div>\n
living as we do in this perdition.<\/div>\n
All of those who’ve signed it with a tear<\/div>\n
tend on short notice to disappear.<\/div>\n
Retribution is the soul of fear.<\/div>\n
There are men who make it a career.<\/div>\n
Protest has become an aberration<\/div>\n
in the current version of the nation.<\/div>\n
It can earn a brisk one-way vacation<\/div>\n
to some remote desert changing station.<\/div>\n
It has all come down to them and us.<\/div>\n
Them ride Escalades, us ride the bus.<\/div>\n
We are warned to never make a fuss<\/div>\n
by our leaders, all omnivorous.<\/div>\n
Thinking about putting down the pen,<\/div>\n
sign it later, though I don’t know when,<\/div>\n
or if I will get this chance again.<\/div>\n
