\nare like two teams,
\nwho battle late at night
\ninside our dreams.
\nIn very worst nightmares,
\nit’s as if not one soul cares.
\nThe protesters with guns
\ndescend en masse like Huns.
\n‘Don’t take our rights away,’
\nthey’ll scream with plague in play.
\nThey act the pioneer.
\nA mask might make them queer.
\nThey must go to the gym.
\nThe virus is a whim.
\nThey’ll party on though thousands
\nare still dying.
\nInside closed houses,
\nrelatives are crying.
\nThe new talk on developing vaccines
\nuntil next year is just a hill of beans.
\nAnd now, alas, another complication.
\nOur leader’s gone on permanent vacation.
\nAnd if he tries a coup, there’s nothing we can do.
