so easy to eliminate. We invited them to lunch,<\/div>\n
and traded them our beads for their great land.<\/div>\n
We relocated, restricted and tortured them.<\/div>\n
We gave them smallpox-infected blankets.<\/div>\n
We killed their buffalo and dishonored sacred<\/div>\n
grounds. We bred in them fear and alcoholism.<\/div>\n
Carved them out of wood for folks’ amusement.<\/div>\n
Slaughtered three hundred Lakotas at Wounded Knee.<\/div>\n
Later, we made fun of them on television as well as<\/div>\n
in movies and sports; called them ‘Redskins,’<\/div>\n
Indians, Wahoos and Chiefs. See also Tonto.<\/div>\n
And now their\u00a0primeval eden is a hotbox of decay.<\/div>\n
We turned their\u00a0vibrant culture into mere survival.<\/div>\n
