Every machine sounded of planes.<\/div>\n
Thunder was guns<\/div>\n
and then night drew in.<\/div>\n
On next morning’s map,<\/div>\n
we had been eliminated.<\/div>\n
Harbor islands had become volcanoes.<\/div>\n
The waves bore shrapnel<\/div>\n
and shredded uniforms.<\/div>\n
The holiday was blamed<\/div>\n
and next time we were told<\/div>\n
