What we found
\nwas a heart on the ground
\noutside the organ store.
\nAppallingly pink,
\nbut emitting no stink,
\nit was squishy but firm,
\nand beating no more.
\nIt didn’t look broken
\nor aching or frozen.
\nIt didn’t look restless
\nor cheatin’ or blue.
\nWe poked some inside it,
\nbut couldn’t abide it.
\nAnd then we decided
\nthis pure heart was true.
\nSo we left it behind,
\nhoping someone would find
\na replaceable part
\nfor a heartless restart.<\/p>\n
