\nIt was clear St. Nick was addled
\nwhen the reindeer were found saddled.
\nElves were working triple shifts.
\nToys were being lost in drifts.
\nIn November, things got weird
\nwhen the Claus shaved off his beard.
\nHe’d walk the north pole ringing bells,
\nlooking more like Orson Welles.
\nWhen he changed his suit to green,
\nRudolph had to intervene.
\nSo, this year it’s for the best
\nif poor Santa takes a rest.
\nAs you lay snug in your beds,
