Feb. 14th, the Ground Hog’s Day of Love

I love you more than stomach trouble,

Double Bubble or the Hubble.

More than guacamole dip, sit and sip, chocolate chip.
Even more than ham and eggs, cribbage pegs, chicken legs.

Let it be said that I love you
more than a pool of Mountain Dew.

More than a brand new pair of sneakers
or plush toys with inside squeakers.

More than baseball, more than dice, more than Grey Goose over ice.
Even more than rock on vinyl, I love you and that is final.

(Cut and paste, then store away; save under Valentine’s Day)

Last Request (UGHotD#1)*

Most of all, I’m going to miss the music.
Food and drugs and drink were fun as well.
But, it is song that I’ll miss most dearly
when I finally make my way to hell.
Hell is just an eight-foot plot of bare earth,
six-feet deep and covered with a stone,
where the body slowly decomposes,
in the dark cold underground alone.
So please put a system in my casket,
all charged up to play eternally.
Hell will not be nearly so much torture
if I have my tunes down there with me.
